Sanimax was looking for a liner that would not degrade over time to extend the life of its biofilter (10 years instead of 5), reduce ambient odors and lower maintenance costs. The Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ), which was approached to carry out the project, asked the CTTÉI to research materials with appropriate properties. Of all the options proposed, recycled concrete aggregate from the construction, renovation and demolition sector was selected and successfully implemented.
