The Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI) has been commissioned by the Olympic Park to identify outlets for the materials that will be recovered when the Stadium roof is dismantled.
The Société de développement et mise en valeur du Parc olympique de Montréal approached the CTTÉI because of the research center's expertise in materials recovery, and its vast network of contacts.

The applied research center's mission is to identify potential takers for the various components of roofing, including fabrics, but also a variety of cables and metal components. On Thursday, June 13, a mesh workshop organized by the CTTÉI brought together some forty participants and identified opportunities for valorization. The CTTÉI will liaise with companies interested in the materials.
"Our aim is always to respect the 3RV hierarchy: reduction at source, reuse, recycling and recovery. So, first and foremost, we promote the reuse of materials. Then we evaluate recycling options, giving priority to those with the highest added value," explains Claude Maheux-Picard, General Manager of the CTTÉI.
In addition to contributing to waste reduction, the Olympic Park initiative is part of the necessary transition to a circular economy in Quebec, with a view to combating climate change and improving the resilience of the economy in terms of resources and supply.
