On Monday, November 4, 2024, in Rouyn-Noranda, Martine Rioux, Chair of the Independent Monitoring Committee responsible for monitoring the requirements of Glencore's ministerial authorization for the Horne Smelter, announced that she would be calling on the CTTÉI to support the committee members in their work. After reviewing the documents submitted by the Horne Smelter, MartineRioux announced that the CTTÉI would support the committee in its work.

Low-carbon cement formulated at the CTTÉI thanks to a federal grant

Thanks to a $200,000 grant from the federal government, the CTTÉI will acquire a high-temperature rotary kiln to develop low-carbon construction materials. The Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI) has been mandated by the Olympic Park to identify outlets for the materials that will be recovered during the dismantling of the Stadium roof. The CTTÉI was approached by the Société de développement et mise en valeur du Parc olympique de Montréal because of its expertise in the field of industrial ecology. Luc Sirois, Quebec's Chief Innovator and Director General of the Quebec Innovation Council, visited the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI) on Thursday May 30. Claude Maheux-Picard, General Manager, showed him around the facilities of the applied research center, in the company of elected officials and innovation partners from the CTTÉI.
