First Synergy Compendium in Quebec

The Synergie Québec community, led by Cttéi, has published the first Synergy Compendium of 11 concrete and inspiring cases of achievements in the circular economy in Québec.

In this Compendium, 25 companies and organizations testify, with supporting figures, to the impact of their business synergies achieved byindustrial symbiosis : extending the lifespan of resources, innovation, savings and reduction of GHG emissions.

The Compendium is a valuable tool for all players in the circular economy in Quebec :

  • Political and business decision-makers
  • Economic development, environmental protection and social economy organizations
  • Actors in the education community
  • General public

This collection is part of the research work of the Research Chair on Industrial and Territorial Ecology (CRÉIT) led by the Cttéi and the Cégep de Sorel-Tracy.

Synergies: win-win linkages

As the Compendium shows, Synergie Québec community facilitators support businesses in implementing synergies to make their resources profitable, whether it be residual materials, underutilized equipment, labour, transportation and more.

The Compendium was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the symbiosis facilitators: Antoni Daigle and Karine Thibault of Synergie Estrie, Luc Massicotte of Synergie Matanie, Audrey Roberge of Économie circulaire Capitale-Nationale, Melissa Stoia of Synergie Montréal and David Verville of Économie circulaire Arthabaska-Érable.

The synergies presented in this compendium have been achieved with the following companies and organisations: Microbrasserie Multi-Brasses, l'organisme Sécurité alimentaire, Innomalt, Entosystem, Café Vittoria, Arborinnov, International Visual Corporation (IVC), Papiers et Emballages Arteau, Quebec Port Authority, Quebec City, Englobe, Desjardins, École Logique, Ville de Métis-sur-Mer, Municipality of Baie-des-Sables, Studio Artefact, USD Global, Beauchemin Industriel, Duclos Assurances, Nordik Blades, Pantoufles Garneau, Transport Grayson, Fermes urbaines Ô Plant, and Blanc de gris - Fresh mushrooms.
