Industrial ecology: the content of a training course for enterprises is now available free of charge

Montréal, June 19, 2018 - The Conseil Patronal de l'Environnement du Québec (CPEQ) and the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI) are proud to announce the public launch of the content of their training program for Québec companies entitled "Industrial Ecology - How to Take Action? »

This training, designed in 2015 at the request and with the financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation (MESI) and the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MDDELCC), has since been given to hundreds of industrial stakeholders, municipal partners and business representatives throughout 2016 and 2017. The training tour has enabled the trainers to travel throughout Québec, meeting with the most avant-garde companies that make up Québec's industrial fabric, from New Richmond to Montréal, including Victoriaville, Kamouraska, Saguenay, Scott, Trois-Rivières and Joliette.

The CTTÉI's Executive Director, Claude Maheux-Picard, says: "Many industrial symbioses have been created in Quebec since 2016 and others will be developed in the coming months by emulation of the pioneering companies that paved the way by taking an active part in this training tour. This is proof that industrial ecology can generate tangible economic and environmental benefits. »

CPEQ President and CEO Hélène Lauzon added: "Our training has proven its worth and is a great collaborative success between the CPEQ, the CTTÉI, their government partners and the hundreds of Quebec companies that have taken the ambitious and lucid gamble of taking part in the major trends of industrial ecology and circular economy over the past two years. »

On the strength of these many success stories and success stories, all Quebec businesses will now be able to take their turn by consulting the training documents and the various tools resulting from them, which are now available for free download on the CPEQ and CTTÉI websites.
