The 2021 Synergy Sourcebook proves that the circular economy is on the move in Quebec

Sorel-Tracy, May 26, 2021 - The Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI) and Synergie Québec present the Recueil de synergies 2021. With 32 synergies and as many positive spin-offs, this second volume proves that the circular economy is on the move in Quebec.

On the occasion of the Circular economy conference organized by RECYC-QUÉBEC on May 26 and 27, 2021, Synergie Québec is presenting its second Compendium of synergies. The network of industrial symbioses for the circular economy in Quebec published the first edition of this Compendium in May 2020.

In this Compendium, 85 companies and organisations from 13 symbioses report on the impact of their circular economy initiatives.

  • Longer life span of resources,
  • New products,
  • Savings,
  • Reduction of GHG emissions,
  • Maintaining or creating jobs.

Thus 32 files, chosen for their representativeness, put forward successful partnerships achieved thanks to territorial symbioses.

" Symbiosis facilitators play a crucial role in the field. They catalyse linkages and innovations", explains Jennifer Pinna, circular economy advisor at the CTTÉI and community facilitator.

" Industrial symbioses are on the rise and are proving their effectiveness. It's very positive to realize that their action has a concrete impacton the efficient use of resources in our regions of Quebec," adds researcher Julien Beaulieu. adds researcher Julien Beaulieu. Julien holds the NSERC Research Chair in Industrial and Territorial Ecology (CRÉIT), which is managed by the CTTÉI and the Cégep de Sorel-Tracy.

So there is no excuse to re-evaluate your business practices and improve your value chain through the circular economy!
